Effective: May 13, 2026Last updated: May 13, 2026

The Short Version

  • Your health measurements are processed on your device. We do not store them on any server unless you choose to email yourself a report.
  • We only collect your email address when you voluntarily request a report to be emailed to you.
  • We do not sell your data to anyone. Ever.
  • We use cookies only for essential functionality (theme preference). No advertising cookies.

1. Overview

Health Calculators ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at https://www.smarthealthcalculators.com (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our Service. By using Health Calculators, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

This policy applies to all visitors and users of Health Calculators, including free and premium users.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Health Measurements (Calculator Inputs)

When you use our calculators, you enter data such as:

  • Age, gender, height, weight
  • Body measurements (neck, waist, hip circumference)
  • Activity level and fitness goals
  • Dietary preferences
Important: This data is processed entirely in your browser and stored only in your browser's localStorage on your own device. It is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly request an email report.

2.2 Email Address

If you choose to email your health report to yourself, you provide your email address. This email address is used solely to send you the requested report via our email service provider (Resend). We do not store your email address in a database. The email is sent once and not retained on our servers beyond the delivery process.

2.3 Payment Information (Premium Users)

When you purchase the premium Complete Health Assessment, payment is processed securely through PayPal. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account details, or any full payment information. PayPal's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data. We receive only a transaction confirmation.

2.4 Usage Data (Automatically Collected)

We may automatically collect certain information when you visit our website, including:

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website
  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)

This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used to improve the website and understand usage patterns.

2.5 Name (Optional)

The Complete Assessment form has an optional "Full Name" field. This name is used only to personalize your on-screen results and email/PDF report. It is not stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

Providing the Service

To perform health calculations and display results to you.

Sending Reports

To email you the health assessment report when requested.

Payment Processing

To verify your payment for premium features via PayPal.

Improving the Service

To understand how users interact with calculators and improve their accuracy and usability.

Security

To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraudulent activity.

Legal Compliance

To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal requests.

We will never:
  • • Sell your data to third parties
  • • Use your health data for advertising or marketing profiling
  • • Share your email address with other companies for their marketing
  • • Use your data for purposes not listed in this policy without notifying you

4. Data Storage & Security

On-device storage: Your health measurements and form data are saved in your browser's localStorage. This means the data lives only on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it. We never receive this data unless you take a specific action (such as requesting an email report).

Email delivery: When you request an email report, your email address and health data are transmitted securely (HTTPS/TLS) to our email service provider (Resend) to deliver the report. Resend retains email delivery logs for a limited period per their own privacy policy.

Security measures: Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Access to our systems is restricted to authorized personnel. We use modern security practices including secure HTTP headers and input validation.

Data retention: Because we do not maintain a user account database, there is no long-term retention of your health data on our servers. Email delivery logs (held by Resend) are subject to Resend's data retention policy.

Note: No method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate this website:

Vercel (Hosting)

Our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel processes server logs including IP addresses. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Resend (Email Delivery)

Used to send health assessment reports via email when you request them. Your email address is passed to Resend for delivery. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

PayPal (Payment Processing)

Used for secure payment processing on premium purchases. When you pay, you interact directly with PayPal. We do not handle or store your payment credentials. See PayPal's Privacy Policy.

Analytics (Plausible / Google Analytics)

We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand overall traffic and usage. If using Plausible Analytics, no personal data or cookies are collected. If using Google Analytics, IP addresses are anonymized. No health data is ever shared with analytics providers.

These third parties have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external services, but we have selected them based on their strong privacy commitments.
