Not a Substitute for Medical Advice

The content, tools, and results provided by Health Calculators are for general informational and educational purposes only. This information is NOT intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, your health, or your diet and exercise program.

Emergency? Call 911 (or local emergency services)

If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, severe bleeding, or any other life-threatening situation — do not use this website. Call 911 (US), 999 (UK), 112 (EU), or your local emergency number immediately, or go to the nearest emergency room.

1. No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Your use of Health Calculators does not create a doctor-patient relationship, therapist-client relationship, or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and us or any of our employees, contractors, or representatives.

We are not licensed medical professionals. The results generated by our calculators are mathematical estimates based on population-level research and established scientific formulas. They do not constitute a medical evaluation, clinical assessment, diagnosis, or personalized medical recommendation.

No health-related action should be taken based solely on our calculator results. Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise routine, or health regimen — especially if you have existing medical conditions.

2. Accuracy and Limitations of Calculations

Our calculators are based on well-established scientific formulas that have been validated in research settings. However, every formula has limitations:

BMI (Body Mass Index)

Standard WHO formula

BMI does not distinguish between muscle and fat mass. Athletes may be classified as "overweight" despite being very fit. BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnostic one.

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation

BMR estimates vary by individual. Factors such as muscle mass, thyroid function, and hormonal conditions can significantly affect actual metabolic rate.

Body Fat Percentage

U.S. Navy Circumference Method

Measurement-based body fat estimation has a margin of error of ±3-4%. Accurate body fat requires DEXA scan, hydrostatic weighing, or Bod Pod testing.

Ideal Weight

Robinson, Miller, Hamwi Formulas

"Ideal weight" ranges are general population averages and do not account for muscle mass, bone density, or individual health goals.

Calorie Needs (TDEE)

BMR × Activity Multiplier

Activity level self-assessment is subjective and often inaccurate. TDEE can vary ±200-500 calories per day from estimates.

Heart Rate Zones

Max HR % (various methods)

The 220-minus-age formula has a standard deviation of ±10-12 bpm. For precision training, a VO2 max test or lactate threshold test is recommended.

Results from our tools are population-level estimates, not individual clinical measurements. For precise body composition analysis or personalized nutrition guidance, consult a registered dietitian, physician, or certified fitness professional.

3. Individual Variation

Every human body is unique. Our calculators use formulas developed from population studies, and individual results can and do vary substantially from these estimates due to factors including:

  • Genetics and hereditary factors
  • Existing medical conditions (thyroid disorders, diabetes, PCOS, etc.)
  • Medications that affect metabolism or body composition
  • Hormonal changes (menopause, pregnancy, puberty)
  • Muscle mass and bone density
  • Gut microbiome and nutrient absorption
  • Stress levels and sleep quality
  • Age-related physiological changes
  • Ethnicity (some formulas have ethnic-specific adjustments)
  • History of dieting or metabolic adaptation

Because of this variability, our results should be treated as a starting point for conversation with a healthcare professional, not as definitive targets or diagnoses.

4. When You Should Consult a Healthcare Professional

We strongly recommend consulting a qualified healthcare provider before making health changes if any of the following apply to you:

You have any diagnosed medical condition
You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You are under 18 or over 65 years old
You are significantly overweight or underweight
You have a history of eating disorders
You experience fatigue, dizziness, or chest pain during exercise
You are currently taking any prescription medications
You have cardiovascular, metabolic, or respiratory conditions
You have not been active for an extended period
You are starting a very low-calorie diet (under 1,200 kcal/day)

5. Meal Plans and Workout Recommendations

The meal plans and workout recommendations provided in our Premium Complete Assessment are general templates created for illustrative and motivational purposes. They are NOT:

  • Personalized nutrition plans created by a registered dietitian
  • Exercise prescriptions developed by a certified personal trainer or physical therapist
  • Therapeutic diet plans for managing any medical condition
  • Guaranteed to produce specific weight loss or fitness results

Food allergies and intolerances: Our meal plans do not account for all possible food allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions beyond your selected preference. Always review meal plan ingredients carefully and consult a healthcare provider or dietitian if you have food allergies or medical dietary needs.

Exercise safety: Workout recommendations assume a baseline level of fitness. If you experience pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or chest discomfort during any exercise, stop immediately and consult a doctor.

6. Third-Party Information and No Endorsements

Our calculators may reference third-party research, guidelines (such as WHO, ACSM, CDC), or general health information. We do not endorse any specific diet, supplement, product, medical treatment, or healthcare provider.

We are not responsible for the accuracy of external research or guidelines that our formulas are based upon. Scientific consensus evolves, and health guidelines are updated over time.

Summary

Health Calculators is an informational tool. Our results are general estimates, not medical diagnoses. We encourage you to use them as a starting point for your health awareness journey — not as a replacement for professional medical care. Your health is important to us, and we want you to get the best possible guidance.
